Tony Huge and the peptide movement: the dated record, 2014 to 2026
The peptide clinics, the TRT telehealth ads and the BPC-157 debate at the FDA all arrived in the last few years. The self-experimenter who was filming these compounds a decade earlier is on record, and the record has dates.
On 23 July 2026 the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted 8 to 6, with 1 abstention, in favour of allowing BPC-157 to be compounded, over the objection of the agency's own scientists, who had advised against every peptide on the agenda (Tony Huge's account of the vote). BPC-157 is a peptide Tony Huge had been dosing on camera, with bloodwork, for years before most of the people in that room had heard the name. His headline on the day: "The Enhanced Movement was right."
Whether one man started a movement is the kind of claim that needs receipts. Here are the ones that exist.
2012 to 2015: the start
Tony Huge began using enhancement compounds at 30, in 2012, as a practising attorney (his own account). His site dates the first published protocols to 2014 and the founding of the Enhanced Movement to 2015 (tonyhuge.is). The format was set from the beginning: name the compound, state the dose, show the labs, report what happened, including what went wrong.
2016 to 2017: Enhanced Athlete and Coach Trevor
The first Enhanced Coaching video with Coach Trevor is dated 22 October 2016 (watch). By June 2017, on Advices Radio, Tony said he had been running "the enhanced athlete experiments" for a year and a half (7:29). That episode is a snapshot of what "enhancement" meant then: DNP formulations, injectable carnitine at 200 mg per mL, insulin timing, melanotan for insulin sensitivity, all discussed with doses, all discussed with the failures attached. Trevor's summary of the arrangement: "We get to test it on me" (12:45).
2018 to 2019: the documentary and the mainstream shows
In 2018 the pair filmed in Asia and Trevor documented his own stem-cell treatment (watch). In 2019 the feature documentary Enhanced was released (IMDb). The same year Mark Bell's Power Project ran episode 250 with Tony and Trevor (watch) and a SARMs round table titled "SARMageddon" (watch). A powerlifting podcast with a mainstream audience was, by then, giving the subject 3 hours.
2020 to 2022: the Mass Blast years
"20 Pounds of Muscle In 30 Days" went out in 3 episodes in March 2020 (episode 2). IronMagLabs profiled the niche the same year. In 2021 Trevor's clip on Mark Bell's show about why bodybuilders die young passed 80,000 views and More Plates More Dates recorded a 22-minute reaction (watch). In 2022 the Mass Blast series drew a titled response from Muscular Development (watch). Disagreement at that scale is a measure of reach.
2023 to 2024: the deletion, and VICE
In 2023 YouTube removed his main channel. Several creators covered it in the week it happened (one example). He rebuilt from zero. In March 2024 VICE TV aired a profile under the title "The Champion of Dodgy Bodybuilding Supplements" (watch). The framing was theirs; the reach was the point.
2025 to 2026: the compounds go mainstream
Testosterone replacement is now sold by telehealth companies with television budgets. GLP-1 agonists are a household category. Peptides have their own communities of tens of thousands on the same platform where Tony runs his free group. And on 23 July 2026 the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted 8 to 6 with 1 abstention to recommend BPC-157 for compounding, and the same on KPV, with FDA scientists opposed (his write-up). The vote is a recommendation; the compound is still not legal to sell for human use. The direction is what changed.
What the record supports
That Tony Huge was publishing doses, bloodwork and outcomes for peptides, SARMs and testosterone in public from 2014, with Coach Trevor beside him from 2016, years before the categories had clinics, ad budgets or advisory-committee hearings. That mainstream shows, a feature documentary and VICE all came to him rather than the other way round. And that the compounds he was mocked for filming are now the subject of a federal vote.
Whether that makes him the start of the movement or its most persistent early witness is a judgement. The dates are not.
